Add "Go To" functionality to SmartList

Add "Go To" functionality to SmartList in Dynamics GP to open forms (with input parameters), go to websites, run drilldowns, etc.

This tutorial assumes you have created a SmartList and want to add "Go To" functionality.

Here are steps on creating a SmartList: http://visualdavedotnet.blogspot.com/2014/05/how-to-create-smartlist-through.html

Go to Tools>SmartList Builder>SmartList Builder.  After adding all your SmartList info and data requirements, select the "Go To" button.

I will demonstrate the "Open Form" selection.  The "Open Form" functionality will allow you to open a form in any selected product.  I will open the GP form "Item Inquiry".  I will then select "Add" to add a new Task.

On the "Add Task" window, select the "Task Type".  I selected "Set a field value and run field script".  This will allow you send a parameter to the opened form.  This select will also run the script on the form for that field changed event.  Enter the "Field" on the newly opened form that you will send the your parameter to.  In this example, I am sending the "ITEMNMBR" from my data query to "Item Number" on the Item Inquiry form.

Save and close all your input forms.  Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP>SmartList.  Select your SmartList.  When you select an row in the data listing, you will now see the icon button in the top right corner enabled.  Selecting this button will show a list of all your saved tasks for this SmartList.  Select the newly created "Open Item Inquiry" task and you will see the Item Inquiry form.  You should see the parameter you sent and also execute the change event for that field.
